Adult Weight Management Practitioner – Lowestoft area
We currently have one vacancy to join OneLife Suffolk’s Adult Weight Management team in Lowestoft
OneLife Suffolk delivers an integrated healthy lifestyle service across the county. As an Adult Weight Management Practitioner, you will deliver an evidence-based behavioural change obesity programme for adults and children if required.
Your main responsibility will be leading groups of adults to enable them to lose weight in an effective and sustainable way.
In addition to this, you will be required to promote the service to stakeholders, clients and health professionals in a range of different ways such as events, drop-ins and telephone calls to generate sufficient referrals to meet the KPIs.

Engagement Team Practitioner
Have you ever wanted to be the person that makes a healthy living just a bit more achievable for whole communities?

We are looking for someone who can be OneLife Suffolk’s key link between key services and Onelife Suffolk including, GP’s, schools, workplaces as well as voluntary, community and faith (VCF) sector groups and health and social care colleagues across the locality to improve the health of their workforce or community. You will be the named link person for a set number of GP surgeries in a specific locality and delivering training to health professionals.
This key local engagement team role will be central to supporting the whole of OneLife Suffolk offer including, but not limited to, the adult and child weight management programmes, health checks and the physical activity and smoking cessation interventions

Healthy Lifestyles Service Manager – Permanent / Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
The OneLife Healthy Lifestyles Service Manager, based in Suffolk, will be a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and will be responsible for our Weight Management services.
You will report to the Head of OneLife Suffolk Services and work alongside our Smoking Cessation, Integration, Active Lifestyles & Partnerships, Healthy Lifestyles and Marketing Managers.
You will manage the strategic planning, implementation, delivery, monitoring, stakeholder engagement and ongoing improvement of both the Adult and Children Healthy Lifestyle Services which incorporates both Adult and Child Weight Management offers.
Are you passionate about improving health outcomes for populations? Do you have robust safeguarding experience working with both adult and child populations? Working alongside and providing line management support to your Service Leads you will have overall accountability for the delivery of the services and their strategic development.
You will need to have a clear vision for the continuing evaluation of our service offer – and the skills to implement changes to ensure OneLife Suffolk provide effective Weight Management offers that have life-changing results for Suffolk residents.
All of our services and developed with strong, psychologically informed curriculums… and you will also work with our Clinical Psychologists to regularly review the service framework and the methods by which we deliver our interventions.
Our targets are challenging – but we know we can achieve them. You will be accountable for driving the service forwards… working with your direct reports you will have clear plans in place to deliver services to target groups and provide interventions where they are needed the most.
Talking to people about weight isn’t easy – you need outstanding communication skills… be empathetic, proactively utilise tact and be able to build rapport with clients. You will deliver services that provide a great sense of job satisfaction and the influence to continually improve them.
This is a busy but fulfilling role – and you will need to have the determination and grit to support your teams to make a difference to people’s lifestyle choices.

The Psychology Lead will be responsible for the clinical supervision of the delivery teams. They will ensure that the programmes are delivered to the highest standard to achieve positive outcomes for the individuals involved, in a cost-effective manner. In conjunction with the Contract Manager, the Clinical Lead will be the key point of contact with the Commissioners and Corporate Customers and lead the on-going development of the service.
The role will need to provide clinical guidance as part of an MDT regarding patients who have been referred to the service who have psychological needs. The role will involve identification of an optimal care pathway for these individuals. As part of our team, you will require sound in-depth knowledge of obesity prevention and treatment, dietetics, health psychology and public health.
The role will involve joint working across the team to support the ongoing development of curriculums and content (articles, blogs, vlogs, podcasts) that supports and engages services users, it will also. This will be across a variety of themes from well-being to behaviours change and across our lifestyle services. Content will also be developed to support colleagues and wider stakeholders.
The role will engage with research teams to enable a continual dynamic process of implementation of evidence-based practice and practice-based evidence.

Outreach NHS Health Check Practitioner (Maternity cover)
An NHS Health Check is a screening for 40 – 74 year olds which assess an individual’s cardiovascular risk and aims to identify any early signs of long term conditions such as Stroke, Type 2 diabetes and Heart Disease. The NHS Health Check Practitioner is responsible for taking measurements, including cholesterol, blood pressure and weight. If you have a passion for supporting local people to live healthier lives, we are recruiting for an NHS Health Check Practitioner where full training will be provided. This role will be predominately for the Ipswich and East area of Suffolk although the flexibility to cover work in the West Suffolk and Waveney area may be required.
As an NHS Health Check practitioner, other responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with a range of Voluntary, Community, & Faith sector (VCF) and Health & Social Care Professionals, as well as communities and localities, to identify groups and clients who may benefit from the NHS Health Check but who may not traditionally engage with health promotion activities or NHS services.
- Work with these groups and the Health Check Team to deliver the NHS Health Check to identify people at risk of cardiovascular disease in communities which have identified health inequalities.
- Provide agreed health improvement advice to all clients identify those who will benefit from signposting to health lifestyle interventions via the OneLife service, as well as the client’s General Practitioner as per agreed protocols.
- Improve the uptake of the OneLife services via the NHS Health Check route.
- Promote the equality and value the diversity of individuals.
