OneLife Suffolk Service Extension

Firstly, we want to start by thanking our clients and partners for your ongoing support throughout the past challenging year.

OneLife Suffolk ended 2020 with the positive news of a two-year extension of our contract with Suffolk County Council which means we can continue to deliver healthy lifestyle services across Suffolk until March 2023.

Our response to Covid-19

Our services are more important than ever to our local communities in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. They include Adult Weight Management, Stop Smoking, Families & Young People (weight management targeted to ages 5-18), Get Help To Get Active (targeted towards those with long-term conditions), Health Walks and NHS Health Checks.

At the onset of Covid-19, we adapted our face-to-face services to provide virtual delivery and have developed a suite of digital resources, including information sheets, podcasts and videos. During the pandemic, we have made over 100,000 wellbeing calls to those who are most in need of our services.

Continuing to create positive outcomes

OneLife Suffolk benefits from the research and insight provided by our parent company MoreLife and partner Leeds Beckett University which helps us ensure we get the best outcomes for our clients.

In 2020

  • 12,401 people started one of our Healthy Lifestyle Services
  • 4,374 people joined an Adult Weight Management programme, losing a total of 16,624 kg’s
  • 7,437 people have stopped smoking with our support
  • 17,455 children received a Tier 1 intervention
  • 2,559 Health Checks have been delivered in the local community
  • 1,279 professionals including teachers, pharmacists and community nurses have been trained by us to make every contact count (MECC)

Working together to support those in need of our services

During these challenging times, it is more important than ever that we are able to continue to support those in Suffolk to live healthier, happier lives.

Open letter calls residents to look after health as lockdown stresses take effect

Suffolk residents are being urged to look after their health during the lockdown in an open letter published by healthy lifestyle services provider, OneLife Suffolk.

Last year over 12,000 Suffolk residents joined a healthy lifestyle programme and the majority of these were delivered online. OneLife Suffolk adapted its programmes to suit virtual online delivery and made over 75,000 calls.

The provider, which is commissioned by Suffolk County Council Public Health, fears that the feeling of being ‘out of control’ during third national lockdown is preventing people from getting in touch to seek the help they need.

OneLife Suffolk offers Adult Weight Management, Children and families programmes, Stop Smoking support, Get Help to Get Active, Health walks and NHS Health Checks.

Lisa Cox, Head of OneLife Suffolk says; “A lot of things are out of people’s control at the moment – they could be hit financially, or be struggling with childcare while working from home. So it’s unsurprising that looking after yourself can slip to the bottom of the priority list.

“Sleep quality, stress levels, exercise and having support from people around us all play a huge role in our mental health and all of our services help people look at each of these areas so they can make improvements and start to feel the benefits.

“Our main message is that you are not alone. If you would like to make some changes like quitting smoking, getting you or your family active or losing weight then you can do this with our support. Our services are free. Let us help you find some time and motivation in 2021, just give us a call.”

Alongside the open letter to the public OneLife Suffolk is calling on community organisations to work together to signpost its healthy lifestyle programmes, all of which are designed to support good mental as well as physical health.

The open letter to the public is published on OneLife Suffolk’s website where there’s information about all the programmes as well as podcasts and webinars covering topics such as mindfulness, managing stress, healthy eating and keeping active.

Supporting you to live healthier and happier lives

Dear All,

We wanted to reach out and speak to you about the extraordinary and challenging situation we continue to find ourselves in.

This pandemic has impacted every one of our lives but that doesn’t mean that your individual experience is any less difficult or significant.

One thing we can all agree on is that 2020 taught us the importance of looking after our health. Many of us have been inspired to do all we can to make healthy changes to our lives in order to protect ourselves as best we can from the worst effects of Covid-19 and to lessen the load on the NHS.

A lot of things may be beyond our control at the moment- we know many of you have been financially impacted, are struggling with childcare or working from home (which can feel a lot like living at work) or have had your usual support networks disrupted. So, despite wanting to make improvements to your lifestyle, when you are just trying to get through each day, your health can slip to the bottom of the priority list.

OneLife Suffolk would like to help you think again about looking after ‘your health’. We are here to support you.

Some simple changes can make a big difference and we have a range of services which can fit into your day and cost you nothing.

Mental health is as important to us as physical health because the two are closely connected and all our programmes are designed with this in mind.

Did you know that sleep quality, stress levels, exercise and having support from people around us all play a huge role in our mental health? All of our services will help you look at each of these areas, especially considering the current lockdown, so you can make improvements and start to feel the benefits.

Our main message is that you are not alone. If you would like to make healthy changes – we can help you to:

Let us help you find some time and motivation in 2021, just give us a call. 01473 718193 or visit Sign up for our Free Services – OneLife Suffolk

Yours Sincerely

Lisa Cox,

Head of OneLife Suffolk
